My Name is Jeffrey M.de Guzman aka Jeff MD in all online art forums. I grew up in a busy city in the Philippines called Makati. I have always dreamed of becoming a comic artist when I was a kid. A country where, American and Japanese style Comics is the popular form of fantasy artworks. Trying to adopt and mimic those styles but never got any close achieving them.

In Mapua Inst. of Technology, I graduated BS Mechanical Engineering in 1999 and received my professional licence the year after. I worked for 2 years with that profession and never really got true satisfaction.

I pursued my other passion, cooking, which I studied and completed my culinary arts here and abroad, having a career as a chef for almost 5 years. Inspired by IFX Issue 10’s cover artwork, I began doing Digital Art by November 06. Creating artworks during my free time, my hobby completely took my attention over when I got a break from Tom of ImagineFX and be featured in Issue 14 of the magazine’s DVD. Motivated from that instance, I fervently continued to create artworks for different online art competitions in which I won loads from.

I have got personal artworks published by Ballistic Publishing’s annual artbooks, Exotique 3 & 4 and Expose 6 which my artwork is the featured cover of the limited edition. Was given Excellence (silver) award in the portrait painted category for the image Golden Bee judged by Expose’s 9 man awards committee which includes Ryan Churh, Max Dennison, Stephan Martiniere, Brom and a lot more big names.

I am currently working as a CG artist for UnderGround Logic Manila, a VFX Company. I create concepts, matte-painting, textures for 3D models and 3D sculpting. I am also a freelance illustrator for books, magazines, print ads and private clients mostly online.

Recently was invited to be a food stylist for a ketchup commercial where in I cooked and plated food artistically and appetizingly together with loads ketchup on it. A fun experience it was, combining my culinary expertise and my artistic side to end up with such.
